July 5th, 2014 - The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) doubleheader weekend at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) continued on Saturday evening. McCool captured his second career victory with the tour in as many nights with a $2,000 triumph.

Twenty-four entries returned to battle, and Bub locked into the second starting spot in the 35 lap finale via a heat race win. Duke Palasini took the lead at the drop of the green flag, but a bobble in turn four allowed McCool and Rick Rickman to get by for the top two spot on lap one.

By lap six the leaders were in lapped traffic as the first of four cautions flew. The second caution of the event waved on lap nine, and on lap ten Rickman used the low line to shot past McCool for the lead and he bounced off the outside wall in turn four.

The final caution of the night came on lap sixteen, and on the restart Rickman motored away from McCool. However, the race was far from over as McCool caught Rickman by lap 24. The duo rocketed past the flag stand side-by-side, and continued to go door-to-door until McCool used a slidejob in turn four on lap 28 to claim the top spot.

Once out front McCool stretched his advantage and went on to score the win by a straightaway over Kyle Beard, Tommy Surrett, Stacy Taylor, and Duke Palasini.

July 4th, 2014 - After a few weeks away from the track, Bub McCool returned to the driver's seat over the weekend with a pair of COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) events at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi).

Twenty-five Super Late Models registered for $1,500-to-win opener on Friday night. McCool posted the quickest lap overall during time trials, and went on to win his heat race to lock into the pole position for the feature with Tommy Surrett alongside. McCool grabbed the lead as the race went green but Surrett would fight back and ultimately lead lap one of the 30 lapper.

A caution flew just as lap one was complete, bunching the field back up before going green once again. Surrett commanded the top spot as the leaders caught lapped traffic by lap six. On lap seven McCool used heavy traffic to his advantage to take the lead, but Surrett jumped back to the top spot just one lap later. McCool assumed the point once again on lap nine.

Once out front Bub race away from his competitors to lap all but the top ten runners on his way to victory, which came over Surrett, Clay Fisher, Duke Palasini, and Kyle Beard.

June 14th, 2014 - Bub entered the annual Clash at the Mag at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) over the weekend.

Forty-four competitors registered for action in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event at the 3/8 mile oval on Friday night, and a second place finish in his heat race locked McCool into the seventh starting spot for Saturday night's $20,000-to-win, 100 lap finale.

June 7th, 2014 - Bub McCool overcome his early season struggles on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), in a Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at the 1/4 mile oval.

A strong field of thirty-four Super Late Model competitors were on the grounds, and after qualifying fourth in his group Bub went on to finish seventh in the dash. As a result he would start seventh on the grid for the 50 lap finale.

During the course of the feature McCool progressively worked his way forward, reeling in early leader Timothy Culp as he looked to make a bid for the top spot. Heavy traffic allowed Culp to pull away with fifteen to go, but it wasn't long before McCool was able to run him down again. On lap 40 a crossover move from Culp retained him the advantage before McCool was able to assume the point with eight laps remaining. Despite lap traffic and a slight brush with the wall in the closing laps, McCool held on for the checkered flag. He was followed across the finish line by Culp, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, and Dane Dacus.

May 25th, 2014 - The team traveled to the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) over the weekend for the 22nd Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100.

On Thursday evening a talented field of sixty-four Super Late Models registered for battle in a $5,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned event. Heat race action found Bub falling just short of qualifying for the feature, and as a results he was forced to run a b-main. McCool failed to reach a transfer spot in the b-main, bringing his night to an early end. Complete results from the event can be found at www.MLRARacing.com

Friday night found the qualifying night being held for the $30,000-to-win finale as sixty-five entries took to the speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program. McCool earning the fourth starting spot for his heat race via time trials. He had high hopes for the heat and would register a fifth place finish but, only the top three finishers moved onto the100 lap main event forcing him to run a b-main on Saturday.

McCool made a last minute decision to enter the Mississippi State Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Sunday evening. Twenty-six Super Late Models entered the program, and Bub started his outing by qualifying fifth in his respective group. He went on to win the b-main, locking him into the tenth starting spot for the finale. May 18th, 2014 - Bub set out to enter a pair of World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series events over the weekend, but rain on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) reduced the weekend to a single event.

As a result on Sunday night McCool returned to the familiar confines of Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) for a $10,000-to-win affair. Thirty-three competitors took part in the event, and a fourth place finish in his heat race sent Bub to the feature in the 16th starting spot. He would go on to advance seven spots to finish 9th in the 50 lap feature.

1May 10th, 2014 - Bub McCool traveled to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Saturday evening for a $2,000-to-win program with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS).

A field of twenty-four entries were on hand for the event, and in heat race action Bub drew the pole for the third heat race before racing to the win to lock into the third starting spot for the 40 lap finale. In the feature he battled at the front of the back throughout the event, and made a late race charge for the top spot before settling in second behind race winner, Ray Moore. Kyle Beard, Tommy Surrett, and Timothy Culp rounded out the top five finishers.

1May 3rd, 2014 - Bub took part in a pair of $10,000-to-win events with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend in Illinois and Kentucky.

Action began on Friday night at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois), where a talented field of thirty-four competitors registered for battle. A fourth place finish in the heat race transferred McCool to the feature, where he started fifteenth on the grid for the 50 lapper. McCool raced around mid-pack for much of the event before crossing the finish line in seventeenth.

Saturday evening found the team competing at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) as thirty-one entries took to the oval. McCool found himself behind the eight ball early in the night by struggling in qualifications. He would advance a few spots in both his heat race and b-main, but failed to transfer to the feature as his night came to an early end.

1April 19th, 2014 - Bub returned to action with the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) over the weekend with a pair of events at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). Action began on Friday night with a $7,500-to-win event as forty-nine competitors converged on the 3/8 mile clay oval. Bub finished third in his preliminary heat race to lock into the seventeenth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. During the course of the main event McCool advanced six spots to an eleventh place finish at the checkered flag.

Saturday evening found the purse increased to $12,500-to-win for NDRL competitors, as forty-six Super Late Models registered for battle. Bub drove to a fifth place finish in his heat race, but only the top four finishers would transfer into the main event, leaving him to run a b-main. He finished second in the b-main to lock into the nineteenth starting spot for the feature. McCool battled the handle on his #57J McCool Logging Super Late Model to a 20th place finish in the final rundown.

1April 13th, 2014 - Bub McCool kicked off a busy weekend with the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) on Thursday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania). As forty-one Super Late Models were registered for battle, McCool just missed the transfer into the main event via his heat race, leaving him to run a b-main. Bub pick up the win in the b-main to earn the seventeenth starting spot for feature event. In the main event, McCool drove by six other competitors to register an eleventh place finish in the final rundown.

Saturday evening found the team competing at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Virginia) where a talented field of thirty-six entries were on hand for the $20,000-to-win King of the Commonwealth. McCool raced to a fourth place finish in the heat race to earn the sixteenth starting spot for the 60 lap finale. During the course of the feature, Bub would battle the handle on his #57J Super Late Model to a 23rd place finish.

Sunday evening saw the team returning to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) for the $10,000-to-win program that was postponed from Friday night due to rain. Thirty-eight Super Late Models were on hand for the event, and unfortunately a mechanical failure forced McCool to scratch from the balance of the program.

April 5th, 2014 - The team traveled to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Saturday evening for $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) program, after Friday night's event at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) was plagued by Mother Nature. McCool failed to make the transfer into the main event via heat race action and would go on to record a fourth place finish in the b-main, but only the top two finishers would move on to the 50 lap finale and Bub's night was brought to an early end. March 14th, 2014 - Bub entered the 4th Annual Pelican 100 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Friday night. The unsanctioned event was originally set to be a two-day, $10,000-to-win event however, officials made the decision early Saturday to cut the event to a one-day, $5,000-to-win event with the forecast for threatening weather over the weekend.

Fifty-one drivers were registered for battle and Bub locked into the seventh starting spot for the main event via a second place finish in his preliminary heat race. During the course of the 50 lap feature, McCool raced inside the top ten for much of the event and would register an eighth place finish at the checkered flag.

March 8th, 2014 - Bub McCool returned to action with the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee over the weekend. (Derek Bobik Photo)

The NDRL 'Tennessee Tipoff' drew forty competitors for Friday night's $7,500-to-win opener. Bub missed the transfer into the main event via his heat race and struggles in the b-main forced him to take an emergency provisional, securing him the 28th starting spot. During the course of the 40 lap feature, McCool advanced to a 21st place finish.

The struggle continued for Bub in on Saturday night, as thirty-eight entries were on hand for the $12,500-to-win finale. After failing to make the transfer into the main event via heat race action or the b-main, Bub was forced to once again take a provisional starting spot. Despite starting deep in the pack, McCool was able to advance to a seventeenth place finish in the 60 lap feature.

March 1st, 2014 - Bub McCool opened his version of the 2014 season this weekend in the 17th Annual Bama Bash at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama.

Thirty-eight competitors registered for action in the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) sanctioned event on Friday night, and a third place finish in his heat race locked McCool into the eleventh starting spot for Saturday night's $17,017-to-win finale.
