Forty-six competitors registered for action in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event at the 3/8 mile oval on Friday night, and a fourth place finish in his heat race locked McCool into the fourteenth starting spot for Saturday night's $20,000-to-win, 100 lap finale.

In the feature Bub quickly worked his way into the top ten and would run their for much of the event before a late-race tangle with Scott Bloomquist caused McCool to spin and relegated him to a 16th place finish.

1June 7th, 2013 - Bub McCool entered the opening round of the 19th Annual Dream 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening in the #57J Chad Stapleton Motorsports/Schaeffer's Oil/Barry Wright/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model. Eighty-four entries were in action at the 1/2 mile oval, and despite starting fifth in his heat race he charged to a second place finish, which positioned him starting seventh on the grid for the 25 lap, $2,500-to-win finale. As the feature went green he quickly worked his way forward in the field and with five laps remaining found himself in second behind race leader, Matt Miller. A late race restart saw Jimmy Owens slip past McCool for the second spot as he went on to record a third place finsih at the checkered flag behind race winner, Miller, and Owens.

Friday night's program found the field again being divided into two groups as a pair of $5,000-to-win features were posted. Bub earned the sixth starting spot for his heat via time trials and would race to a fifth place finish, which left him one spot short of transferring to the feature. As a result he had to do battle in a b-main, where he won to lock into the eighteenth starting spot for the main event. During the course of the 25 lapper he advanced six spots to a twelfth place finish.

The $100,000-to-win finale was held on Saturday night, and heat race action found Bub starting tenth on the grid. He would race his way to a ninth place finish, which resulted in him being relegated to the C-main. In the C-Main he raced to a second place finish, which positioned him starting deep in the b-main grid. The team had high hopes of making a run through the field to qualify for the big finale, but an overheating engine forced McCool to retire early from the b-main, which ended his weekend.

J1une 1st, 2013 - Saturday evening found Bub racing at Stateline Speedway (Busti, New York) with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour. 1May 24th, 2013 - On a chilly, late May weekend Bub McCool traveled to NAPA Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio) on Friday evening to open a three day swing with a $10,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model event. Thirty entries filled the pits, and a sixth place finish in the first heat race positioned him starting sixteenth on the grid for the 50 lap finale. Even though preliminary action left him starting deep in the field he raced past ten cars on his way to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Dave Hess Jr., Josh Richards, Darrell Lanigan, Rick Eckert, and Chub Frank.

Saturday night took the team to Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) for the opening round of Jackpot 100, which posted a $6,000 winner's check for the WoO program. Thirty-four entries registered for battle, and struggles in time trials left Bub starting sixth in his heat race. He would be unable to advance any spots as he finished sixth, which sent him to a b-main. The b-main again found him failing to advance any positions, and as a result he utilized a series' provisional to start the feature in the 23rd position. The main event found him finally getting things in gear as he raced forward twelve spots to record an eleventh place finish.

Sunday evening found the purse increased to $15,000-to-win, and McCool started the night on a much better note as he charged from the fourth starting spot to win his heat race to lock into the redraw for the feature. In the redraw he was the recipient of the second starting spot as he joined Josh Richards on the front row. When the green flag dropped McCool bolted to the lead and paced the field for the first twenty-one circuits before Darrell Lanigan slipped past for the lead. A few laps later Richards pushed McCool back to the third spot, and that's where he would cross the finish line.

1May 11th, 2013 - While Mother Nature did her best to claim wins in both of the weekend's World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model events, officials were able to do some shuffling, and on Saturday evening the tour invaded I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for a $10,000-to-win program.

The race marked the first-ever time for the tour to invade the 1/4 mile oval as twenty-seven entries registered for battle. In the main event he raced in the top five for much of the event before settling into a sixth place finish at the checkered flag.

With thirty entries in the pits the night started on a strong note for McCool as he qualified third fastest before winning the third heat to lock into the redraw for the feature. The redraw presented him with the fourth starting spot for the 50 lap finale, and as the race went green McCool bolted into the second spot and would hold down the position for much of the event before unbelievably bad luck struck as a mud clod knocked the oil line loose on lap 36, which brought his night to a disappointing end in the sixteenth position.

Bub is now eleventh in the latest WoO standings. For complete event results and the latest standings please visit www.WoOLMS.com.

April 13th, 2013 - Bub took part in a pair of $20,000-to-win events with the newly-formed, National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) over the weekend in Kentucky and Ohio.

Action began on Friday night at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky), where a stellar field of fifty-five competitors registered for battle at the 3/8 mile oval. A second place finish in the fifth heat race transferred McCool to the feature, where he started eleventh on the grid for the 75 lapper. On a very fast, rough, and demanding track McCool raced in the top five for the first half of the event before overheating issues forced him to retire to a fifteenth place finish.

Saturday evening found the team competing at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri) as another strong field of fifty entries took to the 1/3 mile oval. McCool found himself behind the eight ball early in the night by struggling in qualifications. He would advance a few spots in both his heat race and b-main, but failed to transfer to the feature as his night came to an early end.

As a result he was forced to run a b-main on Saturday, which he won from the front row to lock into the eighteenth starting spot for the 100 lap, $20,000-to-win finale. In the feature McCool began working his way forward as the green flag flew, and was running in the top ten on lap 69, when a mechanical failure brought his night to a disappointing end in the eighteenth position.

While McCool's main intent for the $2,500-to-win event was to get track time for the upcoming World of Outlaws event at the 1/3 mile oval, he would accomplish another goal by claiming the feature win!

Thirty Super Late Models filled the pit area for the event, and after setting fast time in his group and overall he locked into the pole sitter's dash. A win in the dash earned him the pole for the 50 lap feature with Ronny Lee Hollingsworth joining him on the front row. As the race went green Hollingsworth jumped to the lead with McCool in tow. A few laps later McCool bolted into the top spot and never looked back on his way to his second win of the 2013 campaign. March 9th, 2013 - After finishing second two years in a row Bub McCool finally claimed his first Pelican 100 victory on Saturday night in the third running of the event.

McCool started his weekend by registering a lap of 14.234 seconds around the oval to earn top qualifier honors. Heat race action found him out-dueling Terry Phillips to score the win, which locked him into the pole for Saturday night's 100 lap finale.

While McCool led a majority of the feature the win was far from easy as he had to fend off Chris Wall early in the event before battling Don O'Neal during the race's mid-stages. Late in the event Bub began to battle mechanical issues as Billy Moyer moved into challenge for the top spot. McCool held on to score the win over Moyer, Phillips, O'Neal, and Wall.
