January 6th, 2012 - A pair of new Bub McCool shirts have been added to the Apparel section. November 5th, 2011 - Bub McCool concluded his 2011 season over the weekend as he claimed the biggest win of the year in the $7,000-to-win, Gumbo Nationals at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS), which was sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Series Super Late Model tour. Thirty-five Super Late Models entered the event, and action began on Friday night as Bub set fast time in his group and overall to earn the pole position for the first heat race. He would storm to the heat win to earn the pole starting spot for Saturday night's $7,000-to-win, 70 lap finale. He was joined on the front row by Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, and as the race went green McCool jumped to the lead. He would endure a few early race cautions before the feature saw the event's final 52 laps go caution free. Bub would drive away from second place runner, Jack Sullivan, but the going would be far from easy as he had to endure heavy lapped traffic for the remainder of the event. He would survive a few close calls to claim the win over Jack Sullivan, Kyle Pleasant, Rodney Wing, and Ross Camponovo. The win was his third of the season as he celebrated in front of an enthusiastic crowd and gave a young fan his helmet. Full results are available at www.PRODirtCarSeries.com. October 29th, 2011 - The weekend found Bub traveling to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin' 100. A talented field of 66 Super Late Models entered the program, and in time trials Bub was eighth fastest to earn the third starting spot for the second heat race. He would advance one spot to finish second in the heat behind race winner, Jared Landers, to lock into the ninth starting spot for Saturday night's 100 lap finale. As Saturday night's $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start event went green McCool would maintain his spot in the top ten. For the duration of the event he would battle around the tenth position as he was unable to make up much ground. When the checkered flag dropped he was credited with a tenth place finish. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com. October 22nd, 2011 - Bub was in action in the 17th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic over the weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) as 60 cars registered for action in the $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start event. In time trials on Friday night McCool would qualify fourth fastest in his group to earn the fourth starting spot for his heat race. The heat would see McCool battle past early leader Jared Landers to claim the lead by the race's midway point. However, late in the race Klint Byars would race past McCool to claim the heat win as Bub finished in the second spot. Via his heat race finish Bub started eighth in the 100 lap finale on Saturday night. As the race went green he would begin working his way forward, and by lap 30 he found himself in the lead. He would lead the next four circuits before seeing Jack Sullivan drive by for the lead on a lap 34 restart. Bub would battle in the top five for the next several laps. However, as the race progressed the tires would start to go away on his #57J entry, and he would slip backwards. After a trip to the pits for fresh rubber he would rejoin the tail of the field before recovering to a 15th place finish at the checkered flag. October 15th, 2011 - The team traveled to Atomic Speedway (formerly KC Raceway) over the weekend for the 31st Annual US Steel Dirt Track World Championship. A $50,000 winner's check was on the line for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event as 90 cars registered for action. The event was slated to get underway with time trials and heat race action on Friday night, but Mother Nature had other ideas as persistant rains forced the entire show to be consolidated into a single event on Saturday. With time trials beginning at 4pm the oval would quickly take rubber and locked down. Via time trials, Bub earned the sixth starting spot for his heat race. With passing only coming at a premium McCool would advance one spot to a fifth place finish, which resulted in him starting third in a b-main, where the top two finishers would transfer to the feature. In the b-main, with a mechanical issue he finished third, which prevented him from starting the main event. However, he earned the pole for the $3,000-to-win, Jim Dunn Memorial, which was a non-qualifiers race. His bad luck would continue though as he was forced to unload a backup car for the event due to the mechanical issues on his primary entry. He would make a few laps in the event before retiring. Via his performances in the qualifying nights, he locked into the 23rd starting spot for the 100 lap, $40,000-to-win event, which was being taped by the SPEED TV cameras. Early in the caution-plagued event, Bub would slowly begin working his way forward and by mid race he was up to mid-pack in the 31 car field. Over the closing laps he would go on to advance to a ninth place finish in the final rundown, which earned him a nice $5,500 payday in the richest event of the season. Sixty cars entered the $7,000-to-win event, and via time trials, he locked into the second starting spot for his heat race. A third place finish in the heat would transfer him to the thirteenth starting spot for the 25 lap, preliminary feature. Despite being greeted with track conditions that resulted in fast racing, and made passing difficult, McCool would advance six spots to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. September 29th, 2011 - Thursday night was the opener for the 8th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa), and it proved to be a rough night for Bub. He would receive considerable damage, bringing his night to an early end. He will try again in Friday's preliminary program. Full results are available at www.DirtOnDirt.com. September 24th, 2011 - Bub debuted his 2011 Halloween car over the weekend as he entered the 22nd Annual Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). In the heat he would race his way to a dominant win over David Breazeale and Tony Knowles. Via his win, he locked into the fourth starting position for Saturday night's 100 lap finale, and early in the race he would work his way up to the second position as he set his sights on the leader, Billy Moyer. After a couple of near-misses in lapped traffic the race would endure a long green flag run with Bub falling as far back as fifth before racing his way back to a second place finish behind Moyer at the finish line. The lead duo were followed across the finish line by Eric Cooley, Brian Rickman, and Morgan Bagley. Full results are available at www.ColumbusSpeedway.net.
